Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will attend the summit of leaders of the Western Balkans and the European Union (EU) in Kotor on Thursday, "Vijesti" has learned unofficially.
At the summit, leaders of the countries of the region, representatives of the EU and the United States of America (USA) will discuss the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, i.e. the new financial package of the EU for the countries of the region.
With Vučić in the delegation should be the ministers of European integration and finance of the Government of Serbia, Tanja Miščević and Siniša Mali.
Vučić said yesterday that he will not attend the summit because, as he stated, a session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) will be held on Wednesday, where the proposal for a resolution on Srebrenica will be considered.
According to "Vijesti", the summit in Kotor will be attended by the prime ministers of the countries of the region, as well as US Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien and the outgoing EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelji.
The host of the summit is Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
The summit is organized under the slogan "One region, common vision".
At the end of April, the European Parliament adopted the Growth Plan for the period from 2024 to 2027 worth six billion euros, which the European Commission proposed in the fall. Two billion of that money will be given by the EU as grants, and four in the form of soft loans. Montenegro, as the Government has repeatedly announced, should count on over 400 million euros in favorable loans and grants.
