The Parliament of Montenegro is dedicated to the improvement of youth policies in the country and will be a valuable partner in all initiatives aimed at intensifying cooperation and strengthening the position of young people in the region, said the Vice President of the Parliament, Boris Pejović.
As reported by the Assembly, Pejović spoke today with the head of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) in Montenegro, Edin Koljenović.
The press release states that the achievements of the Office, which was established as part of the Berlin Process, were presented at the meeting.
It is added that Pejović and Koljenović discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Assembly and RYCO, taking into account common priorities in terms of improving the position of young people in Montenegro and the region.
Pejović pointed out the commitment of the Parliament of Montenegro to the improvement of youth policies in Montenegro.
"The Assembly of Montenegro will be a valuable partner in all initiatives aimed at intensifying cooperation and strengthening the position of young people in the region," said Pejović.
He pointed to the potential benefits of cooperation between the Assembly and RYCO, stating that Montenegro can send a strong message of cooperation and good neighborly relations through its work and investment in young people in the coming period.
Koljenović pointed out that in the past few years, RYCO has achieved tangible results aimed at mutual understanding and reconciliation in the entire region.
"In addition to the implementation of regional projects, the office in Montenegro is dedicated to building partnerships with national and international actors operating at the local level," said Koljenović.
He pointed to a number of good practices and initiatives initiated by RYCO at the local level, which can also be applied in the countries of the Western Balkans.
"He particularly pointed out that he sees the possibility of joint action between RYCO and the parliaments of the Western Balkan countries, with the aim of achieving better results in youth cooperation and youth policy in the region," the announcement states.
As it is added, Pejović and Koljenović concluded that the Parliament of Montenegro, in cooperation with RYCO, can set an example of effective representation of the interests of young people in decision-making processes.
"This cooperation can also lead to further cooperation in a wider regional context, helping to create a more favorable environment for youth development," the statement said.
