Montenegrin amendments to the proposed resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica prevented the manipulation of the Serbs as a genocidal people, Branko Krvavac, a member of the Presidency of the Europe Now Movement, announced.
"Although the UN resolution did not mention the responsibility of the Serbian people or Serbia for crimes committed by individuals, the amendments of Montenegro contributed to prevent any manipulation, misinterpretation or abuse by anyone by imputing that the Serbs are a genocidal people. Therefore, the amendments to the resolution, no matter how much someone tries to trivialize or belittle it, they clearly specify individualized responsibility, and explicitly and unequivocally indicate that it cannot be attributed to any group or community," Kvavac said.
He said that Montenegro, which has respect for all innocent victims, and as a country that is a candidate for membership of the European Union, has an obligation to respect the verdicts of international courts, which were established by the United Nations, and the resolutions that have just been adopted by the Montenegrin parliament.
"Anything else would mean abandoning the European path and a certain isolation, which would be the most pleasing to those actors for whom European integration and the rule of law were just a dead letter on paper and a cover for discrimination, corruption and crime," said Krvavac.
He said that grants from the EU, the implementation of the rule of law with the support of Europol and the improvement of living standards are "subjects that are currently on the back burner", due to the resolution that is on the agenda of the UN and "individuals who use this subject and innocent victims for political points".
"Therefore, I believe that it is time to return to the topics from which we live, without the intention of branding any people, which is the permanent goal of the current Government of Montenegro, which will be represented simultaneously in the framework of internal and external policy." the Bloodsucker concluded.
