It is a shame that Podgorica was not among the cities that, at the invitation of the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, supported the adoption of the United Nations (UN) Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, said the member of the Social Democrats (SD) in the Assembly of the Capital City, Miloš Mašković.

"This kind of (in)action best illustrates the European perspective of Podgorica, which, with the approval of Europe, is now being tailored to the Democratic Front. This behavior of Podgorica is not only not in the spirit of traditionally good relations with its brotherly Sarajevo, but could lead to the disruption of those relations, which are built for decades", Mašković said on his X account.

He added that we cannot expect a positive reaction from Podgorica, "when you have Slavica Ilinčić at the head of the "Radosav Ljumović" National Library in Podgorica, who organizes literary evenings during which the siege of Sarajevo is called a fabrication of the West, and you have the leader of the parliamentary majority in the capital Jelena Borovinić Bojović who comes from the Democratic Front, which does everything to deny the state of Montenegro, let alone the genocide in Srebrenica."

"In addition to several appeals I made to the mayor, the answer never came. That's why Bar, Bijelo Polje, Plav, Petnjica, Rožaje, Tuzi and Ulcinj strongly stood by Sarajevo and showed that in 2024 they have no problem with civilizational values," he concluded. .
