Until we discover the person who ordered the murder of Duško Jovanović, we have not freed ourselves from the mafia hand of the former regime, the Socialist People's Party (SNP) announced today.
"Today we mark the anniversary of the death of a great man and the anniversary of the shooting of free speech and free thought. Even after 7.000 days and nights, we all still ask the same question, 'Who killed Duško Jovanović?' The family and citizens of Montenegro are still left without answers as to who ordered this heinous crime. The levers of darkness of the DPS, which then held the security sector in their hands, are still strong. Until we discover the person who ordered the murder, we are not freed themselves from the mafia hands of the former regime," the SNP press release points out.
Those from that party said that the day when free speech and the journalist's pen, bravery and pride were answered with shots, was a warning to all those who think differently.
"That day they did not kill Duško Jovanović, but they shot at free journalism, freedom of speech and thus created a threat to the security of all citizens of Montenegro. However, we must not allow freedom of speech and public speech to be stifled, and the likeness and actions of Duško Jovanović let's just remember May 27, the day of his murder. Duško Jovanović was and remains an honorable symbol - of truth, hope and faith. That is why the state of Montenegro and its political representatives must ensure that the perpetrators of Duško Jovanović's murder are brought to justice once and for all. the well-deserved hand of justice," the SNP said.
The owner and editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Dan", Duško Jovanović, was killed 20 years ago today in front of the newsroom of that media.
