Democratic members of the Bar Municipal Assembly asked whether the private interest of local government officials is stronger than the general interest and preservation of the park near the sports hall.
The citizens of Bar, as they state, should know that the sale of cadastral plot 4972/14, i.e. part of the children's park near the Topolica Sports Center for the construction of a substation, is "anything but accidental" and that it is a "school example" of how the private interest of party officials from puts the authorities before the general interest, in this case the preservation of the park near the Sports Hall.
"Namely, the Decision on the establishment of the right of real officiality of the laying of the electric power low-voltage connection in the scope of the DUP Topolica III in favor of the investor 'Axis Construction' reveals the real reason for the general pressure and the insistence of the local government that it should be done right in the park (and not somewhere else) near the Sports Hall is building a transformer station," the announcement states.
They add that the residential building built by that company is located next to the Željeznica river bed, so "it is obvious that this building, in the absence of its own infrastructure, is also connected to the newly built transformer station".
"Translated in simple language, this means that the position of this object very likely determined the location of the transformer station itself, placing it nowhere else than in the children's park near the Sports Hall. That is why we said yesterday that the investor is 'Djukica Tours', which filed a request for the construction of a substation, only collateral damage and a victim of larger interests," the Democrats state.
They note that the "investor, i.e. the owner" of the aforementioned company that builds a residential building with 65 percent majority ownership, is "none other than Nedjeljko Čović, an official of the Social Democrats and the board of this party in Bar".
"We remind you that it was Mr. Čović who proposed the decision on the election of Mr. Nenezić, the current president of the Bar Municipality Assembly, and that it was Čović who was an active participant in the campaign led by the Social Democrats for the local elections in 2022, so this case is obvious only the continuation of the "debt repayment" that the top of the Social Democrats owes to Mr. Čović, who is currently one of the biggest investors in the municipality of Bar. This is precisely why the local government, in contrast to the "first Bar uprising against the LNG terminal", is pursuing a completely different policy these days , against the interests of the citizens, and is trying covertly and very deliberately to secure the necessary majority for Wednesday, which will vote on the decision to sell the plot and build the substation, whereby it will return part of the debt to its investor, and provide peace and stability to the coalition, at least for another period. , the Democrats state, and conclude:
"As someone who always came out with open cards in politics and towards fellow citizens, we are doing so this time as well, we are discovering the real reasons for the construction of the substation and asking ourselves whether the private interest of individuals or the general interest of citizens will prevail in this case? As far as the Bar Democrats are concerned, that it was never a dilemma".
