It is necessary to continue with comprehensive reforms in order for Montenegro to become a full member of the European Union (EU) by 2028, announced the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
Milatović received the chairman of the committee for foreign affairs of the German Bundestag, Michael Roth.
He emphasized the importance of Germany's continued support for our European path.
"In an open and substantive conversation, the excellent and allied relations between Montenegro and Germany, which are characterized by developed bilateral cooperation and a strong alliance within NATO, were noted. Roth praised the democratic progress achieved by Montenegro in the previous period, adding that our country as a leader in the negotiating process should take advantage of the opportunity and be the first next member of the EU. Also, during the meeting, mutual interest in intensifying cooperation in the field of economy, investments and tourism was expressed," the statement said.
