The head of the parliamentary club Pokreta Evropa Sad (PES) Vasilje Čarapić announced that he "conducted an investigation" regarding how the procedure for working on media laws went.
He pointed out that he did it in order to accurately inform the public, and all with the aim of uncovering, as he says, potential corruption.
"During the drafting phase of the media laws, the Prime Minister held a meeting with Mr. Rudović and Minister Vujović, at which PES suggestions were made for the first time. After the meeting, the Government Cabinet sent these suggestions by e-mail on March 11. The suggestions for the draft law, which previously communicated by the Government in March, the PES club submitted it to the Government on April 30 in order to obtain the European Commission's opinion on them, which is a procedure that is conducted through the Ministry of European Affairs a committee in which Mr. Rudović is fully involved, and which concerns the draft of the Law and suggestions for changes. ", states Čarapić.
He then points out that on May 28, positive comments were received from the Council of Europe (CoE) on the proposed suggestions for amending the law, after which, according to Čarapić, Rudović entered into a campaign to deceive the public in order to protect private interests.
"We at PES have no problem with someone disagreeing with our amendments, the decision on the Bill will ultimately be adopted by the Government and we will not dispute such a proposal, but we believe that it is absolutely unacceptable for any civil servant to publicly speak in favor of private interest and attacks the integrity of the house he works for," points out Čarapić.
He said that Rudović had known about the suggestions for changes to the law for at least two months, and that Rudović's "continuous manipulation of this topic is dishonorable, to say the least."
"We will never be silent about such manipulations and deceptions, and because of his obvious compromise, Mr. Rudović owes the citizens his resignation," Čarapić concluded.
