The Cabinet of the Prime Minister sent the media a "brief overview" of the process of preparing the material that was included today in the thematic session of the Government dedicated to IBAR, related to media laws.
They state that during the drafting of the media laws, a meeting was held with Minister Tamara Vujović and Director of the Media Directorate Neđeljko Rudović, at which, they claim, Vujović agreed with most of the proposals presented, which she did not accept in later proceedings.
"After the meeting in question, the comments of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister were also sent electronically to the address of the Director of the Media Directorate, Neđeljko Rudović. (Attachment 1 - email from March 11). As the comments of the Cabinet were obviously not accepted by the department, the Ministry is sending a version of these laws to the European Commission While the minister's inquiries were answered that the opinion on the proposal that was sent was positive, that is, "she cannot change anything because the Council of Europe does not allow it", said the Spajić Cabinet.
They further state that after that comments were sent in the form of amendments to the Club of Deputies of the Movement Europe Now, through the Ministry of European Affairs on April 30.
"The director of the Directorate for Media was also included in this correspondence by the EU partners. Which is another proof of his awareness of the same. Equally, during one of the Government sessions, the Prime Minister informed the Minister of Culture and Media that he spoke with the EU partners in Brussels and On that occasion, he pointed out all the potential changes. As Minister Vujović claimed that she was not aware of the same, the Cabinet's comments were once again sent to the address of the Director of the Media Directorate (Appendix 2 - email from May 20). ", said the Cabinet.
They add that the position of the minister was that she does not accept anything that does not have the green light of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, so in consideration of that fact, the previously scheduled Government session was postponed until receiving an official positive opinion and comments.
"After the session of the Commission for the Political System was held, the minutes of which (Appendix 3) mention the necessary corrections to the law, and after receiving the green light from the EU and with positive comments from the Council of Europe, this extremely bizarre situation is reached, in which what is claimed It does not correspond to the truth. In accordance with the above, the e-mail correspondence that puts an end to the falsehoods presented twice by the Director of the Media is fully committed to obtaining the IBAR, and will further deal with the issue of untruths in the institutional procedure. ", concluded from the Spajić Cabinet.
