The Bundestag provides full support to Montenegro to be the first next member of the European Union, it was announced from the meeting between the Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and the President of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the German Parliament Michael Roth, it was announced from the Cabinet of the Prime Minister.
As stated, in the conversation it was assessed that the current government has accelerated the integration process, so that Montenegro has become a successful European story and, in this context, a model of how the implementation of reforms pays off, because it brings direct benefits to the citizens.
"Prime Minister Spajić pointed out that it is a complete priority for the Government to fulfill the conditions for obtaining IBAR.
The situation in the region was also discussed, and Montenegro's efforts to promote the importance of good relations on the way to the European Union were emphasized. It was established that the enlargement process is the easiest, but also the most challenging way to reach a peaceful and prosperous Western Balkans.
It was concluded that the strengthening of the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary and media freedom are key to the completion of integration," the announcement states.
The Cabinet of the Prime Minister stated that the President of the Bundestag Foreign Policy Committee in the conversation emphasized the importance of complete compliance of Montenegro with the foreign and security policy of the European Union, as a confirmation of true partnership and Montenegro's desire to become part of the EU.
The importance of economic integration was also discussed, and in this sense it was assessed that Montenegro has the potential for rapid economic development, in order to reach the level of certain countries of the European Union as soon as possible, the announcement concludes.
