The president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said that it is "more than clear" that without that party, there will no longer be a stable government anywhere in Montenegro.
The Kotor board of DPS elected the members of the municipal board at the municipal election conference, and Živković opened the conference.
Živković said that the DPS, "as a state-building party", politically emancipated Montenegro and built democratic processes in Montenegro, "with its politics, it was always ahead of its time, while protecting state and national interests" and that it was precisely from this reasons why it is important to choose "the right people in key positions in municipal party bodies". As Živković pointed out, these are the people who "will be the most prominent representatives of our politics in the next four years and who will articulate its interests in a real, credible way."
"If we elect a good municipal committee, put together a good electoral list and if all partners with close party and program values make a good effort in the next local elections in Kotor, I have no doubts, the Democratic Party of Socialists will have a municipal president in this city. Not because DPS wants to be in power, not because we are against someone, like our political opponents are together so that DPS does not return to power, but because we want this environment to develop, to realize projects and investments , to correct everything that we did wrong in the previous period. In the party headquarters, you will have full support to realize all your goals", said Živković, as announced by the DPS.
He also said that DPS continues to work in the direction of preserving what is the national and vital interest of Montenegro - preserving independence and becoming the first next member of the European Union, and pointed to the agenda implemented by the political opponents of that party.
"The problem is that this is no longer about government policies that operate on an anti-DPS platform, this is about government policies that exist on an anti-Montenegrin platform. It is a platform opposed to the state interests of Montenegro. That's why it's clear how important it is who will be on the municipal board, on the board lists, how important the results are in the next local elections in Kotor, Andrijevica, how significant the success achieved in Budva, how important it is that in Ulcinj we again act from the position of authority , how important the extraordinary elections in Podgorica are and how we will show ourselves to meet the extraordinary parliamentary elections. All these are small victories that lead us to the positions of the authorities", stated Živković.
He said that "it is more than clear that without the Democratic Party of Socialists, there will no longer be a stable government anywhere in Montenegro".
"The government is stable in Bar, in Bijelo Polje and further on in Šavnik, in Plav. There are no misunderstandings in coalitions where DPS is the main constituent of the government. We know how to sit at the table and how to talk, and look at how our political opponents function", concluded Živković, assessing that after 2020, Montenegro did not witness the formation of a stable government at both the national and local levels.
