Danijel Živković's statement, in which he threatens a radical response if Milo Đukanović is arrested, requires an immediate reaction from the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), said the General Secretary of Free Montenegro, Boban Radević.
"Such statements try to influence the work of independent institutions and undermine the legal order of Montenegro. The attempt to defend the one who has been in power for thirty years, and who is linked to numerous illegal transactions, represents taking the side of crime and opposing the rule of law," he writes in the announcement of the Free Montenegro signed by Radević.
He called on all political actors to respect the work of independent institutions and "enable them to perform their duties unhindered. Any threat or pressure on judicial authorities must be investigated by the authorities."
"SDT must take all necessary actions to ensure that justice is carried out without outside influence," he concluded.
