Živković: PES is a seasonal phenomenon that slowly disappears and is extinguished, the current government will not survive at the state level

The Europe Now Movement (PES) is a seasonal phenomenon that is slowly disappearing and dying out, announced the president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković.

DPS announced that Živković opened the election conference of DPS Pljevlja, where members of the municipal board were elected.

He said that no local self-government where DPS is not a constituent of the government is functioning.

"The latest example is Podgorica, and the situation is the same at the state level, where every few days there is a story about the reconstruction of the Government. The main constituent of the PES government is a seasonal phenomenon that slowly disappears and is extinguished. You can see that from election to election. The current government will not survive at the state level and will lose legitimacy very quickly in the Parliament. This is our opportunity, no mistake in the operation of our policy must happen, we should abandon the old ways and continue on a new path," said Živković.

He said that when the DPS returns to power, it will have to repay the people of Pljlevlja, pull it out of the jaws of nationalism and lead it on the path of progress.

"No one but us can do that. The strength of the DPS is in the people who remained consistent with our policy after August 30. We should be proud of that, considering everything that happened in our society, the attempts to criminalize the party, the media lynching that we are experiencing , dozens of negative news every day. Regardless of everything, DPS is still the strongest political party on the political scene. The party infrastructure in Pljevlja has withstood all the challenges, so it is important that we continue to strengthen that infrastructure with quality personnel who want to to work for a better future for Pljevlja and Montenegro," said Živković.

He said that the changes that took place four years ago on the political scene of Montenegro did not bring good to either Montenegro or Pljevlja.

As DPS said, Živković referred to the current situation in the municipality of Pljevlja.

"You can have higher salaries and higher pensions, we are all fighting for it together, but the question is what kind of environment do we live in today? Is Pljevlja today a place of coexistence, civic and multinational harmony? Is Pljevlja a place where every individual feels This is not a quality of life that is worthy of a person. You cannot ignore what Pljevlja has always been. It is not important is what values ​​remain, because a better future of the state and Pljevlja is built on those values," said Živković.

Živković admitted that in the previous period the DPS did not devote itself properly to Pjevlji, but that the new government definitely did not do that either, even though Pljevljak is now in one of the key positions in the state.

"Are there any new projects in Pljevlja, have they at least worked on the preparation of planning documents? What about the long-announced hospital? Why has the ecological reconstruction of the first block of the Thermoelectric Power Plant, a project that was started during the DPS administration, not been completed? They have not done anything good either for the coal mine, so today this economic giant is collapsing," said the DPS president.
