The President of the Main Board of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Mirko Stanić announced that the monument will not be removed from Independence Square in Podgorica.
"The monument to Grand Duke Mirko will not go anywhere from here, but those who would demolish it will be removed from power," wrote Stanić on the social network Iks and published a photo with SDP president Ivan Vujović.
On May 29, the Serbian National Council of Montenegro addressed the President of the Assembly of the Capital City, Jelena Borovinić Bojović, and the representatives of council clubs in the Assembly of the Capital City, with a request to remove the monument to Duke Mirko Petrović from the Independence Square in Podgorica.
