The Parliament directed the President of the State, Jakov Milatović, to sign five more IBAR laws, which the Parliament adopted last night.
Seven laws were sent to Milatović yesterday, which were adopted on Thursday, so now he has all 12 laws needed to obtain the Report on the Assessment of the Fulfillment of Temporary Criteria for Chapters 23 and 24 (IBAR).
These are amendments to the Law on Confiscation of Property Gains from Criminal Activity, the Law on Prevention of Corruption, the Law on Media, the Law on the National Public Broadcaster - Public Media Service of Montenegro and the Law on Audiovisual Media Services, which were adopted last night. On Thursday, the Law on Lobbying, amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure, amendments to the Law on Courts, amendments to the Law on the Judicial Council and Judges, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Training Center for the Judiciary and the State Prosecutor's Office were adopted on Thursday. Proposal for a law on amendments to the Law on the State Prosecutor's Office and amendments to the Law on the Special State Prosecutor's Office. All laws were adopted by urgent procedure. According to the Constitution (Article 94), the head of state is obliged to promulgate the law within seven days of its adoption, that is, three days if the law was adopted by emergency procedure, or to return it to the parliament for re-decision. The president is obliged to announce the re-adopted law. Milatović announced that he will not sign the amendments to the Law on the National Public Broadcaster, which provide for the reduction of the criteria for the selection of the director of the public service, because, as he said, "Public service is the public good of all citizens, and not a platform for any political trades and party favors ".
