Jovanović does not rule out the possibility of new elections in Budva: We will not negotiate with NSD and DPS

Holder of the list "Budva our city" Nikola Jovanović does not rule out the possibility that new elections could be organized in Budva, if political subjects do not show responsibility.

He told "Vijesti" that he will not negotiate with the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), and he is convinced that his list will achieve an even more convincing result in the repeated elections.

"After the Constitutional Court decided on appeals in the election process and the Municipal Election Commission announced the final election results on June 7 and determined the number of mandates won, the conditions were met for the opening of a political dialogue on the formation of the government. The electoral will of the citizens of Budva is clear and unequivocal and in in this sense, our electoral list 'Budva naš grad-Nikola Jovanović' won the largest number of mandates and thus gained full legitimacy to lead the process of establishing the government. significant and we represent a new trend in the political life of Montenegro. We will conduct the talks exclusively on the principles and election program that the citizens supported," Jovanović said in an interview with "Vijesti".

He points out that during the election campaign they clearly announced who for them are not desirable coalition partners and that they will not deviate from their publicly given word, which is why, as he said, they will not hold talks with NSD and DPS.

"There is a clear mathematical and sustainable majority for the establishment of government in Budva, and I think that the electoral will of the citizens obliges us to do so. If this does not happen and if other political subjects do not show responsibility and readiness in this regard, then a repeat of the election is possible. In this case, I am absolutely sure that our electoral list will achieve an even more convincing result and form a government in which there will be no place for some current coalition partners we are to form the government in the shortest possible time," he concluded.

MEC Budva announced the final results, according to which the electoral list "Budva our city – Nikola Jovanović" received the support of 2.671 voters or 23,91 percent and won nine mandates.

The list "Democrats - Strengthen. Renovate. Revive. - Budva Decides - Đorđe Zenović" received 1.194 votes or 10,70 percent (four mandates).

The list "For the future of Budva - Budva open city - Mladen Mikijelj" received the support of 2.842 voters or 25,44 percent, or nine mandates.

The list "Europe now - Budva has a chance - Dr Predrag Zenović" was voted by 784 voters or 7,02 percent (two mandates), the Montenegrin European Party by 239 voters or 2,14 percent, and "DPS - Budva can do better - Prof. Nikola Milović" 2.228 voters or 19,94 percent (seven mandates).

List "URA - Dr. Dritan Abazović - Different!" led by Blažo Radjenović was supported by 550 voters or 4,92 percent, the list "Clean Choice - Petar Odžić - SDP, SD, LP and Citizens" was supported by 514 voters or 4,60 percent, and they each won one mandate.

The list "Dr Vujičić Božidar – For real changes" was voted by 149 voters or 1,33 percent, so it remained below the census, as did the list of the Montenegrin European Party.

The formation of the government requires the support of 17 councilors out of a total of 33 in the Budva parliament. Jovanović sees the Democrats, SDP, URA as coalition partners, as well as the Democratic People's Party (DNP) and the Socialist People's Party (SNP), which within the coalition led by Mikijelj (NSD) each won two council mandates.
