The official of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Radoš Zečević announced that the mayor of Podgorica Olivera Injac (Movement Europe now) has their support in the "joint mission of building a safe and stable future" of the city.
"Since its inception, the new Serbian democracy has advocated for the creation of a better and more prosperous future for citizens at the state, but especially at the local level. We have shown this with an uncompromising and courageous fight against the Democratic Party of Socialists during all these years. It is not out of place to remind the citizens that our party has always been a rallying point and a factor that called for unity in the fight for a free, democratic and fairer society. "We continued that struggle as a coalition for the future of Montenegro, finally winning the freedom of Montenegro on August 2010, 30, and later liberating the municipalities one by one and crowning it all with a magnificent victory in the capital city," said Zečević.
It is natural, he says, "that after gaining freedom, people come to an agreement", whether they agree or not. "These are all achievements of democracy. Of course, we politicians also have a great responsibility towards the citizens. Our key mission must be to build their safe and stable future, and in this context, we believe that, in this somewhat turbulent moment in Podgorica, it is noblest to call again to togetherness," he adds.
NSD believes that Injac has so far demonstrated the necessary abilities to manage the capital and Zečević says that she will have their support as long as, "as before, she works towards the common goal of building a better future for Podgorica and all its residents".
"I want to conclude that the extended hands of reconciliation and friendly cooperation are very necessary for all of us today. We all have the responsibility not to allow Montenegro to return to the dark times before August 30. Instead of persistently looking for differences, let's remember everything that unites us and let's return to the original idea of the fight for the revival of our Capital City," the announcement concludes.
