Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović will participate in the Peace Summit for Ukraine, which is being held in Burgenštok this weekend.
As announced by Milatović's cabinet, he will participate in the summit at the invitation of Swiss President Viola Amherd.
The summit is said to be a key platform for dialogue and the establishment of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, based on international law and the United Nations (UN) Charter.
"The goal of the summit is to promote a common understanding of a possible framework for achieving peace, as well as defining a road map for the future peace process," the statement said.
It added that world leaders will discuss topics of wider international concern, including nuclear and food security, freedom of navigation and humanitarian issues.
"Montenegro, as a responsible member of the international community, attaches great importance to peace initiatives and thus actively contributes to the establishment of international peace and security," the statement said.
Milatović's office stated that numerous world leaders have confirmed their participation in the summit, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron and United States Vice President Kamala Harris.
