It is very important for Montenegro to be active in multilateral platforms, especially in those initiatives that concern peace, announced the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
The Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced that Milatović is participating in the Peace Summit for Ukraine, at the invitation of Swiss President Viola Amherd, which is being held today and tomorrow in Burgenstock.
The press release adds that the Summit gathers numerous world leaders, and in addition to Milatović, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Vice President of the United States of America (USA) Kamala Harris are participating in the summit for Ukraine.
"Today is a very important day and over a hundred world leaders have gathered in Switzerland, including US Vice President Kamala Harris, President Macron, Chancellor Scholz, numerous leaders from Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa in order to find a solution for lasting peace in Ukraine. Important is that Montenegro is here today, you know that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Montenegro has stood by Ukraine and we believe that in addition to being a good neighbor in the Western Balkans region, being a NATO member and the most advanced candidate country for membership in the EU, it is very important that Montenegro is active in multilateral platforms, especially in those initiatives that concern peace, and in that sense, Montenegro really plays an active and constructive role here today," said Milatović.
