It is necessary to continue implementing reforms and fulfilling tasks from the European agenda, in order to improve the quality of life of our citizens, and Montenegro to become a full member of the European Union (EU) by 2028, announced the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
He wrote on the X social network that he met with the President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen.
Milatović is participating in the Peace Summit for Ukraine, at the invitation of Swiss President Viola Amherd, which is being held in Burgenstock.
Milatović also announced on IX that he used his participation in the Peace Summit for Ukraine to talk on the sidelines of the event "with numerous regional and world officials, affirming the contribution that Montenegro makes to policies of stability and mutual understanding".
"As the President of Montenegro, I am proud of the fact that our country, in international relations, is perceived as a credible partner whose future is unquestionably linked to the imminent membership in the EU. The hand of friendship and cooperation remains extended to all our friends," the announcement states. .
