"In the past months, we have witnessed a large number of prosecuted and arrested members of the security sector, but also the extremely dynamic work of the Internal Control Department of the MUP and the Commission for the Determination of Security Disturbances, with the aim of continuously conducting a kind of vetting within the security sector. the adoption of the new Rulebook on the control of property, income and lifestyle of police officers. Monitoring the lifestyle of both police officers and public officials is a very important mechanism in the fight against corruption referred to the European Commission for its opinion, to create assumptions that by amending the Law on Prevention of Corruption we improve the normative framework, strengthen mechanisms for the fight against corruption, but also make it impossible to cover up abuses, i.e. circumventing the law," said Bečić.

Koprivica pointed out that commitment to an uncompromising fight against corruption on a strategic, legislative and operational level is a priority of the 44th Government of Montenegro. He pointed to the determination of the Government to implement the recommendations of the European Commission in order to harmonize the legal solutions in the field of anti-corruption with European standards and fight as effectively as possible with all emerging forms of corruption and criminality.

"The national strategy for the fight against corruption, created as one of the results of this intention and one of the preconditions for obtaining IBAR, received the green light and gives us an incentive to continue improving judicial and anti-corruption laws," said Koprivica.
