Many people call Danijela Živković a political poodle of Milo Đukanović, and most people in the Main Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) consider him Milo's provincial assistant. The main leader in the DPS is not Živković, but a trio of young politicians who do not want to blindly follow Đukanović and his bloody hands, said the arrested Montenegrin businessman Duško Knežević, Atlas Group reported.
As they said, Knežević spoke about the statements of DPS president Danijel Živković in the show "Nachisto" on Television Vijesti.
They state that Živković "in a lengthy elaboration of the most important topics in the political life of Montenegro, pronounced a 'verdict' on Knežević before the start of the court proceedings, which, on the order of the then authorities, were constructed for him by their blind henchman, the then special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić, who, due to the suspicion that belonged to a criminal clan, also a detainee in Spuž".
"Daniel Živković, as the new president of the Democratic Party of Socialists, in whose election there was no uncertainty because his mentor ordered that the members choose one candidate and, just in case, he had no opponent, has absolutely no authority in the DPS," he states in his response. Knezevic.
It is added that "the hero of the DPS, in his excessive obligation to defend the 'character and deed' of the former state president Milo Đukanović, who was liberated by the people of Montenegro in all elections since August 30, 2020, made it clear what he thought on his rule and the work of the party he led, on the mention of the 'envelope', 'first million' and 'nobody's house' affairs, which were insisted on by leader Komnenić, attacked Knežević and, disregarding the presumption of innocence, declared him guilty in advance of accusations against him, which he 'argued' with the fact that Duško Knežević was extradited to Montenegro from Great Britain on April 30".
"The truth is that I am not running away from facing the accusations that Milivoje Katnić laid on me on the orders of Milo Đukanović. As is the undeniable fact that Great Britain did not even want to hear about my extradition until Milo Đukanović was removed from power and until the main actors from the police and prosecution were prosecuted. Interpol, by deciding to reject all three warrants at the beginning of August 2020, sent a 'gift' to Đukanović before the parliamentary elections in which the DPS suffered a heavy defeat," says Knežević.
"Živković says that I damaged the state for 100.000 euros. However, the truth is quite different, as the international arbitration regarding our compensation claim of 500.000 euros will soon show. I hope that Governor Irena Radović will audit everything that happened around Atlas Bank and IBM Bank, and let the Montenegrin public know who withdrew money from both banks," Knežević adds.
He says, the fear of Živković and the formation of Duško Marković's new party is noticeable.
"It is obvious that Živković is afraid of who will side with Duško Marković's party, and about the further splitting of DPS into Milovci and those who do not want to follow Đukanović's path and be his henchmen. New, young people who have authority among the members of the DPS are Nikola Janović, Nikola Rakočević, Mihailo Andušić, Dušan Raičević, while Milo's poodles - Danijel Živković, Andrija Nikolić, Aleksandra Vuković Kuč and Jevto Eraković, who defend their boss in a chorus justice. It's not a problem for me, I'll endure prison, I'll endure everything, I'm very proud of my fight against the DPS and the mafia, and that my fight caused the downfall of this party and it turned out that I was the spark of freedom that came to Montenegro. I have prepared evidence for several cases against Milo Đukanović - the first million, custodian accounts and nobody's house, and as soon as I get out of custody I will give the relevant authorities all the necessary documentation and explain the nature of the transaction from which Đukanović made a huge profit," says Knežević.
"Živković tried to present me as a criminal, and he cannot judge me, because in my activity regarding the Euro-Atlantic path of Montenegro, I never had the opportunity to meet that man at important meetings at the highest level regarding the strategy and nomination for membership in NATO with western partners. I am very proud to have participated in the mapping of the Euro-Atlantic route of Montenegro, and to have attended the ceremony at the State Department in Washington at the invitation of the Americans, on the occasion of Montenegro's accession to NATO, which officially made the country the 29th member of the North Atlantic Alliance. I was awarded the Mediterranean Leadership Award, a leadership recognition from the Johns Hopkins Center for Transatlantic Relations, University of Washington, presented to me by US Congressman Robert Aderholt. That's as much from me as a message for the ambitious Živković, the president of the DPS without authority, as much as I did for Montenegro, for international affirmation and bringing in large foreign investors, but that didn't concern him because he was an apparatchik in some municipal committee of the DPS- a", says Knežević's statement.
On April 30, Knežević was extradited to Montenegro from Great Britain.
He is accused of several criminal acts in which he damaged the state for several million euros.
Several indictments were brought against Knežević in Montenegro - among other things, for organizing a criminal group, money laundering and abuse of position in business operations.
At the beginning of 2020, the Podgorica High Court confirmed the indictment against Knežević in the "Karbon" case, in which he allegedly caused damage to the company "Global Karbon" with four other members of the criminal group and obtained an illegal benefit of 1.942.000 euros.
Knežević was also accused in the "Airports" case, where together with the directors of his Atlas bank, Marko Nikolić and Dijana Zečević, he allegedly damaged the Aerodrome of Montenegro for three million euros.
The beginning of 2019 was marked by the "Envelope" affair, when Knežević published a video showing him handing over, as he claimed, 97.500 euros to the functionary of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the former mayor of Podgorica, Slavoljub Stijepović.
Knežević claims that this is money for financing the government's election campaign and that he did it in agreement with the leader of the DPS and the current president of the state, Milo Đukanović.
