The National Security Council of Montenegro adopted a series of conclusions related to undertaking an urgent and decisive response to strengthening the fight against organized crime, preserving the peace and security of the country, the body announced.
"The National Security Council stated that the fight against organized crime requires a unique and decisive response and that the authorities of the intelligence and security sector will ensure that all citizens feel safe and protected from criminal acts," the announcement states.
In the announcement submitted by the Government of Montenegro, it is stated that yesterday the President of the National Security Council of Montenegro opened the 4th session of the Council, convened in accordance with Article 4 paragraph XNUMX of the Rules of Procedure of the Council, which enables the convening of the session within less than five days due to special reasons that require urgent resolution and taking quick and decisive steps to preserve the safety, stability and national security of Montenegro.
"In addition to the council members, the following attended the session by invitation: Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović, Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković, Chief of Cabinet Branko Krvavac, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Defense and Security Todor Goranović, Acting Director of the Police Administration Aleksandar Radović, Acting Assistant Director of the Sector for Combat against crime, Lazar Šćepanović and the head of the Special Police Department, Predrag Šuković," the announcement reads.
On the agenda of the session, topics were considered - consideration of the current security situation in the country, and on the occasion of the event in Cetinje on Thursday, June 20.
The press release states that the session was attended by the majority of Council members, which, as stated, enabled valid decision-making.
The session was scheduled yesterday by the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, in order to consider the current security situation in Montenegro, and on the occasion of the events in Cetinje on June 20.
On June 20, two people were killed and three were injured in Cetinje, after an explosive device was activated not far from the Sports Center there.
