Laković: We will not support and participate in the government in Budva that depends on opposition parties from the state level

We will not support and participate in a government that depends on opposition parties from the state level, because Budva also needs the stabilization of political conditions, so that the future local government in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro can focus on the development and improvement of Budva, Nađa Laković said today. MP from the Movement Europe Now (PES).

She stated in the statement that PES will be a constructive factor when it comes to the formation of the government in Budva.

"We believe that the new government should be composed of those who can develop good cooperation between the local and state authorities, which is very important for the development of Budva. The process of forming the government should be led by those entities that received the largest number of votes from the citizens of Budva." Lakovic said.

The Budva Municipal Election Commission (MEC) previously announced the final results of the local elections in Budva held on May 26, according to which the election list "Budva our city – Nikola Jovanović" received the support of 2.671 voters or 23,91 percent and won nine mandates.

The list "Democrats - Strengthen. Renovate. Revive. - Budva Decides - Đorđe Zenović" received 1.194 votes or 10,70 percent (four mandates).

The list "For the future of Budva - Budva open city - Mladen Mikijelj" received the support of 2.842 voters or 25,44 percent, or nine mandates.

The list "Europe now - Budva has a chance - Dr Predrag Zenović" was voted by 784 voters or 7,02 percent (two mandates), the Montenegrin European Party by 239 voters or 2,14 percent, and "DPS - Budva can do better - Prof. Nikola Milović" 2.228 voters or 19,94 percent (seven mandates).

List "URA - Dr. Dritan Abazović - Different!" led by Blažo Radjenović was supported by 550 voters or 4,92 percent, the list "Clean Choice - Petar Odžić - SDP, SD, LP and Citizens" was supported by 514 voters or 4,60 percent, and they each won one mandate.

The list "Dr Vujičić Božidar – For real changes" was voted by 149 voters or 1,33 percent, so it remained below the census, as did the list of the Montenegrin European Party.

The formation of the government requires the support of 17 councilors out of a total of 33 in the Budva parliament. Jovanović sees the Democrats, SDP, URA as coalition partners, as well as the Democratic People's Party (DNP) and the Socialist People's Party (SNP), which within the coalition led by Mikijelj (NSD) each won two council mandates.

"Vijesti" previously announced that the Budva politicians are still in a deadlock regarding the formation of the local government, and that the deadline for the constitution of the parliament runs from Friday, June 7 and expires on August 6, but that after July 7, the scheduling of the session at which is elected and his first man takes over the Government. If the session is not held within the legal deadline, President Jakov Milatović calls for new elections.

The current Speaker of the Parliament, Nikola Jovanović, has a deadline of 15 days from the announcement of the final results, i.e. until June 23, to schedule the first session of the new convocation of the Municipal Assembly.
