The president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said that the extraordinary elections in Podogrica would be a chance to rehabilitate trust in the DPS.
He said this at the Municipal Election Conference of DPS Podgorica.
The DPS leader also said that "before it is too late for Montenegro" Milojko Spajić and all these nationalists and chauvinists must be replaced.
Živković said that DPS "continues the merciless fight for a fairer Montenegro and a better Podgorica".
"We didn't understand August 30 as a defeat, but as a lesson to be learned and continue on, better, wiser and better. We stayed together, strong, as the strongest political entity in Montenegro and we are clearing the way from the opposition while protecting national interests. That is the reason for all of us to be proud today", said Živković.
He stated that it was an unfavorable environment in which all this was achieved.
"The environment was not at all simple for us - political persecution and revanchism, judicial persecution, media satanization, criminalization, demonization of individuals, politics and values. When you take all that into account, I am convinced that no political party would have managed to survive at this level of political When they see that it is very difficult to oppose values and people who remain consistent with those values even after the loss of power, because we are not clientelists, but continue on, when they saw that there is nothing of the affairs that were attributed to us, behold miracles, they turned into what they were saying about us," said Živković.
He added that there are numerous abuses of public resources carried out by the current government.
"They say that they came to liberate Montenegro, today we live in a country that is covered with a veil of fascism, nationalism and chauvinism. This is Montenegro according to Andrija Mandić and Marko Kovačević, which wants to deal with everyone who does not declare themselves nationally and religiously like them, which wants to deal with the achievements of anti-fascism, with our European path and our independence. They try to cover it up with the story of the standard of living. They should always be brought back to this story, we are for a better standard of living, but the question is whether we want that better have a standard of living in your house and will you preserve our house, because those in power today are those who do not want to preserve their house rather, it will be too late for Montenegro, we have to replace Milojko Spajić and all these nationalists and chauvinists, because there is no better answer to their inaction than the strong DPS", Živković pointed out.
As he said, DPS will not allow "reconciliation according to their measure".
"Removing the monument to Duke Mirko Petrović here from the center of Podgorica, equating fascism with anti-fascism. We sent a clear message, we will not run over the parliamentary benches and grab microphones like they do, we are not deserters either, but try to implement your plan to change the Constitution and the Law on Dual citizenship and you will get an answer both in Parliament and outside it, and that answer will be radical," said Živković.
The DPS leader also pointed out that it is good that the current majority came to power, because if that had not happened "we would never have realized how many traitors, sold souls and those who work against national interests in Montenegro."
Speaking about the improvement of living standards, Živković pointed out that it is about populism and fraud.
"They are increasing salaries and pensions by 20 percent, and prices by 50 percent. This is nothing but a fraud. Take Podgorica for example today, it is clear that politics is the most powerful tool of manipulation, people came to the capital with the story that they will increase salaries to 1.000 euros, and they announced a reduction, they promised a better standard of living, and increased the tax on real estate, the price of water, and utilities. seriousness, accountability, transparency and commitment to every citizen of Podgorica, regardless of their political, national or religious affiliation. This is a serious difference between serious and irresponsible politics on the other and he got the outlines of an urbanized zone during that government. Today, that government is characterized by quarrels, blackmails, pressures, verbal and physical confrontations, and we will use it to get to the elections and continue working. The extraordinary elections in Podgorica are the biggest chance for the rehabilitation of trust in the DPS," Živković concluded.
