Socialist People's Party (SNP) MP Bogdan Božović, on the occasion of five years since the death of former President of Montenegro and SNP founder Momir Bulatović, said that Montenegrin society then lost "first of all an exceptional man", and then a politician who "played a key role in some bad and difficult times for us and our country".
"Always ahead of his political contemporaries and associates, he recognized the need for change and played a key role in Montenegro's transition towards multi-party system. His leadership in critical times was decisive and strong, just as we remember him, especially in turbulent times of war and economic difficulties. Bulatović's constant work to preserve peace and stability in Montenegro, despite difficult conditions and pressures, reveals to us the thought of a good and free man, with great ideals," said Božović.
"Known for his charismatic leadership and ability to convey his thoughts to the masses, his speeches often inspired and gave hope in difficult times, and his commitment to preserving the sovereignty and integrity of the country was unquestionable. He was a man who left a deep mark with his work in the history of Montenegro and the FRY, whose tireless advocacy for peace and stability make him a significant figure in modern history. That's why we will always remember him with reverence and respect," concludes the SNP deputy.
