The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, was awarded the "Mihai Eminescu" medal and the title of honorary member of the "Mihai Eminescu" International Academy, the Office for Public Relations of the President announced.
Today Milatović received the Romanian delegation led by the mayor of Krajiva Lija Ogluca Vasileska and the president of the Dolj region Kosmina Vasile, and on that occasion the Montenegrin president was honored for his services in national and world cultural activities.
As stated in the announcement, he thanked the members of the Romanian economic delegation for the award, stressing that this visit is of great importance for the improvement of bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
He added that the visit is a confirmation of the excellent and friendly relations between Montenegro and Romania, and that it opens up opportunities for strengthening investment activities, especially in the sectors of tourism, energy and industry.
Milatović pointed to the importance of Romania's support to our European path so far, adding that he expects it to continue in the coming period, the president's office announced.
Representatives of the Romanian economy expressed satisfaction with the meeting with the President, assessing that today's meeting contributes to the further strengthening of interstate political and cultural ties between Montenegro and Romania.
Today's meeting comes after the successful official visit of President Milatović to Romania in mid-March of this year, the announcement concludes.
