"Looking at the political crisis in the municipality of Berane, the Municipal Committee (OO) of the Berane Democrats asked for help from colleagues from the OO Democrats in Nikšić at today's electronic session," the statement of the Berane Democrats emphasized.
They added that the councilors and deputies of Democratic Montenegro were never a factor of instability.
"Since the beginning of the fall of the former regime in local elections throughout Montenegro, which was crowned with a joint victory on August 30, and continued in the following local and parliamentary elections, Democratic Montenegro was and is a trusted partner in all the agreements that were made during the formation of municipal and state authorities. Our councilors and MPs have never been a factor in instability, and in every place from Herceg Novi to Beran, we have held firm that DPS should not be part of the government and that the agreement be respected. Unfortunately, practice in certain municipalities has shown that among our the partners did not have that firm determination, so we became witnesses of many local crises, whenever they were supposed to fulfill their part of the agreement," the Beran Democrats said in a statement.
They said that the government crisis in Berane is the latest example that unfortunately tends to become the rule.
"After the problems in Kotor, Budva, Andrijevica, Podgorica, an unnecessary crisis opened up unprovoked in Berane. The routine, pre-arranged rotation turned into another political soap opera, without its protagonists being irresponsibly silent for two months and not giving the citizens an answer to the question why is this happening. We can still speculate about their motives and guess who is directing this play. We tried to publicly ask them for an answer, but we did not get it," reads the statement of OO Demokrat Berana.
They state that uninvited actors, eager for a little media attention, were involved in public discussions.
"But to our great regret, the public was deprived of a clear and firm answer from the coalition for the future of Beran, from whose ranks the Beran crisis originated. We are of the opinion that a joint effort implies the action of all partners. Since that action is absent, we are forced to look for new ways in order to get out of this crisis or at least reveal to the public who is behind it.
