The President of the Assembly Andrija Mandić today received Russian Ambassador Vladislav Maslenikov for a farewell visit and on that occasion emphasized that he advocates for peace and stability in Montenegro, but also in the region and the world, announced the cabinet of the head of the parliament.
Mandić thanked Maslenikov for his "dedicated work during the ambassador's mandate" in our country, "during which he tried to maintain the best possible relations between Montenegro and the Russian Federation with the best of intentions."
"The interlocutors agreed that our two countries have a great common history and that in the past they were decorated with traditional friendship, believing that in the future these relations will be much better than they are today. In this context, President Mandić stressed that he is for peace and stability in Montenegro, but also in the region and the world, and at the end of the meeting presented Ambassador Maslenikov with a painting of the votive chapel of Petar II Petrović Njegoš in Lovćen, which, as the president said, represents a symbol of the gathering of the people of Montenegro, while the ambassador to the Parliament of Montenegro presented a relief image of the Kremlin," the announcement concludes.
