The decision of the Bosniak party to enter the government with the most extreme retrograde political structures in Montenegro, often recognized as chauvinist, anti-civilizational, i.e. to the anti-Bosniak narrative, it is not the decision of the Bosniak people, who, I am convinced, are quite taken aback and unpleasantly surprised by this approach, announced the president of the Social Democrats of Montenegro, Damir Šehović.
"Political partnership and forming a coalition with those who celebrate convicted war criminals, affirm Chetniks and relativize anti-fascist and multi-ethnic heritage, and destroy good-neighborly relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, for the overwhelming majority of the Bosniak people, to which I myself belong, is absolutely unacceptable. And there are no chairs and appointments in depth and breadth in such a populist-nationalist government, which could justify such an approach," Šehović wrote on the X network.
He added that the SD within the European Union will be a reliable and unwavering advocate and protector of both civil values and the interests of all peoples who truly inherit these values.
"Therefore, the Bosniak people, who have always and everywhere given, and will certainly continue to do so in the coming period, an immeasurable contribution to this very Montenegro. Because of our functions, we will not agree to sell our own dignity and the dignity of the state, that is, to compromise with fundamental state-building values which we have been keeping consistently for more than 30 years," said Šehović.
