The club of councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Rožaje announced that they cannot turn a blind eye to cooperation with "those who represent the Chetnik ideology and do not recognize our religion".
They said that Bosniaks are not "rootless turnips" and that they cannot be represented by "a few people whose politics are questionable".
"18 years ago, after the results of the referendum were announced, Rožajke and Rožajci were the proudest in the new, liberated and independent state, Montenegro. Then we felt a moral obligation to make our contribution, to strive for a multi-citizen and multicultural state, where we will be equal citizens and where, without fear of Greater Serbian politics, we will be able to express ourselves freely, cherish our customs and traditions, our language The Turks sing insulting songs to us, try to discourage and frighten us by not recognizing the genocide in Srebrenica, threatening that the same scenario will repeat itself, glorifying war and Chetnik criminals, all under the guise of Great Serbian nationalism and on orders from neighboring countries they are wrong," the announcement states.
They say that Bosniaks "are not so easily intimidated".
"We did not surrender in much worse historical events, and we will not now. There are many honorable, honest and dignified Bosniaks, who will defend their own, who will defend what we have always been called out for - our faith, tradition and Bosniak legacy. We are not without roots and we cannot be represented by a few people whose politics are questionable. national symbols, national anthem and, as icing on the cake, dual citizenship. We will soon witness that situation and the result of this cooperation, when the time comes to raise our hands and vote for all of the above, which would mean the end of our country for appointing a man who is the personification of anti-Montenegrin politics, who is in favor of erecting a monument to the Chetnik criminal Pavlo Đurišić, does not recognize Kosovo, who stinks of Muslims and who does not recognize our religion. However, with the dose of authority, penalties must also be accepted," it added.
They also said that politics cannot be conducted "without a sincere relationship with its members and voters".
"Decisions are not made in one session, the voice of the people must be heard - the most authoritative voice. We are people with a clean face and we never forget the people who betrayed or sold theirs, that is not forgotten," the announcement concludes.
