The President of Democratic Montenegro and Deputy Prime Minister, Aleksa Bečić, said that neither he nor his party had ever divided the victims of war crimes by religion and nation, and that is why they have always condemned all genocides and crimes, always stressing and writing more than once that responsibility is individual. , and that no nation is and cannot be genocidal.

Reacting to the news that he was declared unwelcome in Croatia, he said that this happened, if he understood correctly, since he had never dealt with Croatia in public appearances nor was he a member of parliament, because members of his party voted for the Resolution on the Genocide in Jasenovac. .

"However, there are other presidents of parties who voted and are members of the Government, so there are obviously no criteria. There is politics, just like earlier in the decisions of some other neighbors. When the Democrats voted a few years ago on the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, then we Serbia was put on the 'red' list, that is, we were harassed for hours every time we crossed the border for over a year until this measure was lifted.

Dear neighbors, as a national Montenegrin and the president of a civil party in which people of all religions and nations have been working together as brothers for ten years, neither I nor the party I lead have ever divided victims by religion and nation, that's why we have always condemned all genocides and crimes. always pointing out and writing more than once that the responsibility is individual, and that no nation is and cannot be genocidal, because we have never divided people except into people and others. This is a civic, European and civilizational value," said Bečić.

Let everyone appreciate where democratic and European values ​​and patterns of action reside, added the president of the Democrats, and they will "continue to strongly advocate for a strong civil Montenegro, devoid of crime and corruption, economically empowered, a Montenegro that wants good relations with everyone, Montenegro, a credible member of NATO, Montenegro which is strongly on the pro-Western path and is moving towards the EU, Montenegro which does not know how to hate, but wishes well for everyone".

"That's why the historic results of the 44th Government in the first nine months, as well as the historic support of 2/3 of the deputies that my little one and the Government received the other day from the deputies of civil parties, Bosniak, Serbian, and Albanian parties, are the best confirmation that Montenegro is moving strongly along the path of stability, social cohesion and further progress," concluded Bečić.
