Facing the citizens is getting closer, and politics must offer much more than arguments, intrigues and name-calling, stated the President of the Assembly of the Capital City, Jelena Borovinić Bojović, in response to councilors Dragutin Vučinić (Movement for Podgorica), Milena Vuković (URA) and Anika Bajić. (Movement for change).
"Yesterday's joint attack by respected councilors Drago Vučinić, Milena Vuković and Anika Bajić, which contains unfounded accusations and unmeasured qualifications against me, as well as the demonstrated excess of nervousness, shows that their euphoria over the overthrow of the parliamentary majority and the shortening of the mandate of the Assembly passed too quickly. somewhat understandable, because they are becoming aware that the confrontation with the citizens is getting closer, that's why I don't blame them for any of the harsh words they sent me," said Borovinić Bojović.
He says that the three councilors in the announcement were the least concerned with the topic and the results.
"And that is precisely the most important thing - that we return to citizens the right to direct election of local community bodies. This is a good step forward in the development of democracy in our city, and only those councilors who talk about it the most and who are burdened with talk about political points and merits are that's primarily in politics. After all, if it's about 'collecting cheap points' and everything they mentioned, then why such a dramatic and aggressive announcement from their side. As I said, the answer is clear, confronting the citizens is everything closer, and politics must offer much more than quarrels, intrigues and name-calling," the answer added.
Borovinić Bojović also said that it was not true that political affiliation was a criterion for inviting people to the press conference on local communities.
"This is confirmed by the fact that the Honorable Secretary for Finance Balša Špadijer, who belongs to the same political block as the councilors who are calling me names, was invited to the same. Why they don't know about it, why they don't like it, those are the questions that concern issues within their coalition, I'm sure the public doesn't have much interest in it. My participation is a continuation of regular activities, not the beginning of the election campaign, but that's why the attack of the three councilors is clearly the beginning of the campaign who will be their main target," she stated.
She says that she has no problem with that, but that her priority remains the citizens.
"In the end, even they know that I am the last person who can be said to be 'decorating with other people's feathers', but that's why their announcement looks like it was written with someone else's pen, namely DPS. I wish my fellow councilors all the best and to deal more with concrete politics - less arguments, more work," the answer concludes.
