The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, announced extraordinary local elections in Podgorica for September 29.
Milatović announced that when determining the date of the elections, in addition to the legal deadlines, he had in mind reasons of rationality and the fact that the local elections in Kotor will be held on the same day.
"I wish all the participants in the upcoming election process a successful and fair campaign, and I wish the citizens of Podgorica to get a government that will ensure the dynamic development of the Capital City," said Milatović.
The local parliament was dissolved on July 24, by the votes of the councilors of the opposition, the Movement for Podgorica, the Civic Movement URA and the councilors of the Movement for Change.
The outgoing government in Podgorica consists of the Evropa Sad Movement, a coalition gathered around the former Democratic Front, Democrats and URA.
