It is very dangerous when the security sector, which has been exposed to a constant struggle for supremacy since the beginning of this government's mandate, is placed at the service of politics. How else to evaluate the joint positions of the Police Administration (UP) and the National Security Agency (ANB), expressed in a statement in which it is concluded that the former President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, is not at risk of assassination, except that they were placed to prepare the ground for the reaction of the Movement Europe sad (PES), which tried to profit politically on this topic, announced the president of the Club of Deputies of the Democratic Party of Socialists Andrija Nikolić.
"If it is known, based on data from Western security services, that Đukanović's murder was planned both before and during 2016, then what can the fact that the number of former President of Montenegro was reduced after leaving office say about the professionalism of our security services? What can be said about the fact that ANB, after recently receiving information about the potential assassination of the former president, did not inform the Police Directorate about it?! security as an institutional platform for the politics of the ruling parties," the announcement states.
Nikolić said that the security sector "which had no information that the mafia in the city center was digging a tunnel to the courthouse for days" is not expected to effectively predict and prevent events that threaten the security of the state or citizens.

"Unfortunately, this is the reality we live in, since incompetent and armchair-hungry politicians put pressure on every segment of the state administration, employing loyal, but mostly unknown and incompetent personnel," he added.
He said that no serious security service would dare to announce that a highly protected person was not threatened with assassination.
"Not even the Security Information Agency of Serbia knew that an assassination was threatening Zoran Djindjic, nor did the US Secret Service or the FBI know that an assassination of Donald Trump was being planned," says Nikolić.
"Instead of thoughtless announcements, which do not contribute to making ordinary citizens, let alone protected persons, feel safe, we call on the Police Directorate and the National Security Agency to avoid politics and return to their constitutional competences," he concluded.
