The representative of the European Union and councilor in the Assembly of the Capital City, Miloš Mašković, announced that today, at the invitation of the locals, he visited the village of Kuće Rakića, which has been without water for almost three months.
"What I found there today is the shame of the institutions of the Capital City and the Municipality of Tuzi, which ignore the problem of people who are threatened with one of their basic human rights. The residents of Kuća Rakić, in the year 2024, believe it or not, have not had a life like the rest of us for three months. For them, the concept of cooking lunch or maintaining personal hygiene is unattainable. I am appalled by the state in which these people find themselves due to the negligence of institutions that should work in the interests of citizens," said Mašković in a statement delivered by the Social Democrats, the party of which he is a member.
He added that the locals' protests are justified and represent the last means of drawing attention to this problem.

"Tomorrow, of course, I will attend the protest on the boulevard between Podgorica and Tuzi, which will take place from ten o'clock. I call on all competent institutions to take responsibility and urgently solve the issue of water supply in the settlement of Kuće Rakića. Basic human rights must not be a luxury and must not be the subject of negotiations. It is time to ensure a dignified life for all citizens, because dignity and basic human rights must not be denied to anyone," said Mašković.
The European Union consists of the Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Party (LP).
