The Municipal Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Nikšić announced today that the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, Damjan Ćulafić, is lying to the citizens of Nikšić, and that garbage is still being taken to Željezar today.
The day before yesterday, Ćulafić said in an interview with Television Vijesti that garbage is no longer disposed of in the halls of Željezara.
"The citizens of Nikšić watched the 400.000 euros that the Municipality of Nikšić received for the rehabilitation of the fire burn together with Mislovi Dol. Not only that, for almost four years of disastrous management of the city, they failed to solve the problem with the landfill, which, we remind you, was one of the crucial pre-election promises of the ruling coalitions, but today they continue to mock the citizens by illegally dumping garbage in the area of Željezara, despite warnings," the press release of DPS Nikšić points out.
They added that it is clear that these are shady activities, while waste, among other things, is disposed of under the cover of night with the presence of private security.
"After all, if they had nothing to hide, they would provide the public with the permit from the Environmental Protection Agency for the disposal and storage of garbage, as well as the contracts with the owner of the hall, which is obviously becoming a wild dump. In the end, the Nikšić authorities have no end and how, together with Minister Ćulafić, who said that garbage will not be disposed of in the Željezara, they are insulting the common sense of citizens without an iota of shame, by illegally unloading waste at that place, we ask the competent inspection services to urgently go to the field, and to sanction those who are responsible for this and this state of affairs in the town under Trebjes", said DPS Nikšić.
