Those who decided to shorten their mandate in cooperation with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will face the same fate as that party, said the president of the Podgorica committee of Prava Montenegro Stefan Vešović.
That party announced that, "in response to formal negotiations regarding possible coalitions for the upcoming elections in Podgorica, they will act in relation to the signed coalition agreement with the Democratic People's Party."
Prava states that Vešović and the secretary of that committee, Ana Dujović, held a meeting with commissioners of local communities in Podgorica, in order to develop a strategy for the upcoming elections scheduled for September 29, and that the general secretary of Prava, Aleksandra Deletić, also attended the meeting.
Vešović said that in the little over a year that Prava has been part of the Podgorica government, it has managed to fulfill its promises to citizens, including the "City Apartment" project:
"With this project, we have shown that concrete results for citizens can be achieved with persistent and consistent work, which is our priority in the coming period as well. Those who decided to shorten their mandate in cooperation with the DPS will face the same fate as the DPS. Blocking the city and spending almost a million euros on an unnecessary election process shows extreme irresponsibility, especially towards the citizens of Podgorica. "I believe that on September 29, those who worked dedicatedly will receive the support of the citizens and that the people will punish the empty promises and platitudes of political converts," he said.
Deletić emphasized the importance of intensifying activities in the field.
"Citizens are tired of politicians who promised changes and then betrayed their trust and cooperated with those they fought against. The real Montenegro will not allow a return to the old ways, but will continue to build a fairer and better Podgorica," Deletić said.
Dujović said that citizens are "exhausted by constant elections and political campaigns", and that the responsibility for this does not lie with True Montenegro.
"We did our best to make Podgorica take a new path compared to the state in which we found it. I believe that those who shortened the mandate of the Assembly will face the citizens and finally understand the perniciousness of the policies they are implementing," said Dujović.
As it was announced, at the meeting, "concrete steps were agreed to strengthen the presence of Prava Montenegro in all local communities of Podgorica". "In the face of formal negotiations regarding possible coalitions for the upcoming elections in Podgorica, Prava Montenegro will act in relation to the signed coalition agreement with the Democratic People's Party," the announcement concludes.
