Deputies today, with the votes of the majority, adopted amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament and amendments to the Decision on the number of vice-presidents.
The opposition, except for Adrijan Vuksanović (HGI), did not attend the vote.
During today's discussion, the opposition criticized the amendments to the Rules of Procedure, which provide that the number of vice-presidents of the parliament from minority parties will increase to two (until now they had the right to one vice-presidential position).
In the proposal for changes to the Rules of Procedure, it is written that they can be legally justified by "the need to ensure equal rights, promote democratic principles and align with international standards for the protection of minority rights".
The opposition assessed that this is only about the distribution of "armchairs", that the "Bosniaization of Montenegro" is on the scene and that the number of vice presidents should be increased, "because it will probably be needed for the Russians, Ukrainians...".
"You have gathered around the armchairs, colleagues. Your cohesive factor is the armchairs – in terms of depth, height and width. There was a lot of talk," said SD deputy Boris Mugoša.
He said that the citizens thought that there were no worse ones, "but there are, and the people got them".
"Parties do not have exclusivity over any people... Civil and national are not mutually exclusive, but civil and nationalist are hell for the state. That's why I ask you all to be careful and carefully weigh what we say," he said during a polemic with the Vice President of the Assembly Nikola Camajem (Albanian Forum).
Camaj replied that they are recognized as such and that only the representative of the national parties represents the minorities.
Member of the New Serbian Democracy NSD Jovan Vučurović welcomed the proposal to elect Mirsad Nurković from BS as the vice-president of the Assembly.
"I think that Mr. Nurković will contribute to even better and better work of our parliament," said Vučurović and added that he does not see why anyone would mind if another vice-president of the Assembly is a representative of a minority nation.
The head of the DPS Parliamentary Club, Andrija Nikolić, said that the parliamentary majority organized today's parliamentary session in cooperation with the Government, despite the agreement of the President's Collegium.
He stated that, in the eyes of the parliamentary majority, democracy has turned into a struggle for functions and privileges.
"The matter is clear and it is obvious that you have lost your compass in the need to feed the hungry mouths of officials," said Nikolić.
Jasmin Ćorović (BS) said that they see the amendments to the Rules of Procedure as correcting the injustice done to minority nations.
"It is a democratic step that recognizes the fact that there are more minority peoples in Montenegro," he said.
