UNDP provides significant support in the implementation of the reform agenda and development policies in numerous areas, with the aim of meeting the goals of sustainable development, it was stated at the meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović today with the permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Montenegro, Ekaterina Paniklov.
Ibrahimović recalled the key foreign policy priorities of the Government, assessing that numerous projects, the implementation of which is supported by UNDP, contribute to the achievement of defined goals, including reforms from the European agenda. He said that during the previous period, the cooperation between Montenegro and UNDP was significantly improved and that Montenegro is grateful for the support for democratization and overall development of the country, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"I am convinced that through joint efforts and close cooperation we will continue to work towards reaching European standards and sustainable development goals in all fields of mutual interest, above all in the areas of democratic governance, green growth, sustainable development and climate change," said Ibrahimović.
Paniklova said that the partnership with Montenegro has always been very successful and that dynamic cooperation at all levels has resulted in significant progress and programs for which Montenegro has become recognizable. In the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is added that Paniklova emphasized that UNDP will continue to provide full support in the implementation of projects that contribute to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda.
"In times of growing crises, close cooperation and joint efforts in the implementation of development projects become even more important. The priority in our work is to help Montenegro on its development path through the implementation of programs that simultaneously contribute to the success of the European integration process. We are glad to see clear progress in the areas of public administration reform, social protection and green economy", Paniklova said.
During the meeting, the professional development programs implemented jointly by the UNDP and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were discussed, with special reference to the long-term very successful cooperation in the organization of the Summer School for Young Diplomats "Gavro Vuković", the announcement concludes.
