The Albanian parties that make up the Albanian Forum (AF) have not yet decided whether and how they will participate in the local elections in Podgorica, while the Bosniak party will participate independently with a minority electoral list.
Elections in the capital are scheduled for September 29.
For now, according to "Vijesti" information, there is a possibility that the Albanian Forum will not participate in the elections in Podgorica.
Nikola Camaj from the Democratic Alliance of Albanians told "Vijesti" that it has not yet been decided in that party, but that, if they go to the elections, they will come out as the Albanian Forum.
The Albanian Forum consists of the Albanian Alternative (AA), the Democratic Alliance of Albanians and the National Union of Albanians. The Forum will participate with the Democratic Union of Albanians (DUA) in the local elections in Gusinje, which will be held on September 15.
President of the Democratic Union of Albanians (DUA) Mehmed Zenka he did not answer the questions of "Vijesti" whether that party will participate in the elections in Podgorica and in what arrangement. That party took part in the 2022 local elections as part of the "All for our city" movement, which was led by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
Two days ago, the municipal board of the Bosniak Party in Podgorica made a unanimous decision on independent participation in the local elections in Podgorica.
As confirmed by "News" from that party, BS will appear independently with a minority electoral list, that is, a list representing a minority people or a minority national community, which means that it needs to collect 150 signatures.
In order for BS to enter the Podgorica parliament, they would need, as a "Vijesti" source from that party said earlier, about 1.700 votes. BS won 1.923 votes in the parliamentary elections in Podgorica last June. That party has never performed alone in the capital until now.
"The Bosniak Party is continuously recording an increase in the trust of citizens, which is confirmed by the latest public opinion polls in the run-up to the Podgorica elections. And in these local elections, we will offer a high-quality election program, as well as a winning committee list, which will be composed of competent and professional personnel from the Bosniak corps", BS announced.
The Bosniak party will perform in Gusinje as part of the "Heart for Gusinje" coalition, where it will perform together with SD and SDP.
Although they announced their participation in the elections in Podgorica and Gusinje during the formation of the party, the Bosniak Democratic Movement (BDP) will not do so.
President of the Movement Sead Shahman told "Vijesti" that the Movement was not created because of the local elections that had already been called.
"I remind you that on July 31 we announced a new political project. In the previous twenty days, we have been engaged in the process of registering the movement and bringing our idea closer to people all over Montenegro," Šahman said.
He said that they want to build the identity of the movement through a clear political project based on principles and a program that they will present to the public.
He emphasized that he will not improvise anything, nor enter into any unprincipled coalition arrangements.
The Bosniak Party needs to collect 150 signatures in order to submit the list for the Podgorica elections
