Candidate for councilor in the local elections in Podgorica in front of the electoral list "Europe now - Democrats" and adviser to the vice-president of the Assembly, Stevan Kandić claims that his personal data - JMBG and ID number - were misused by the electoral list led by the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
He announced that he has decided to submit a criminal complaint to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica against the persons responsible for this abuse.
Kandić expects the competent authorities to investigate this case and sanction all those who facilitated or participated in the illegal use of my data.
"The information that my personal data was used without authorization without my consent, all for the purpose of supporting a list with which I have no contact, represents a serious violation of my civil rights," the statement signed by Kandić states.
He adds that this is not the first time that his data has been misused in this way.
"I emphasize that the signature of support for the list 'Europe now - Democrats - even stronger - Prof. Saša Mujović, Ph.D.' is the first and only signature of support for a political party/list that I have given since becoming an adult. I have always stood for transparency and respect for the law, and this what happened shows the willingness of certain actors to abuse and threaten the credibility of the election process, as well as the basic rights of every individual," Kandic said.
He added that he was particularly sorry that his signature was "abused by a list led by a person for whom I voted in both rounds of the presidential election, believing that he represents the changes that our country needs, which include the absence of abuses of the electoral process."
