Mugoša: Podgorica should be the initiator of positive changes in Montenegro

The European Union presented today the preliminary list for the local elections in Podgorica.

The holder of that list is Boris Mugoša, a high-ranking official and deputy of the Social Democrats (SD).

In addition to the SD, the European Union consists of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Party (LP).

Mugoša said that they advocate dialogue, decency and expertise.

"I will not give up on that framework. There is no campaign that will change me in that regard. I carry it from home, and I also know that such a policy is led by the European Union and I know that this is what the majority of citizens of Montenegro want. What unites us all is love for dignified Podgorica and Montenegro, because one cannot do without the other. 'Podgorica for example' is not just the slogan of the campaign, but our vision of the city, which was woven by our oldest fellow citizens," said Mugoša.

He points out that the European Union has opened the door for all good people and that it is only important that they love the city and have sincere wishes and intentions.

"You know very well how much I love this city. I was born, raised and raised a family in this city. My father and mother built Titograd. As deputy mayor, I did not run for the cameras and did not subordinate my position to low party interests. Even today, with that experience, I say - Podgorica can and must".

Mugoša emphasized that he will lead a positive campaign and that they are in a coalition with the citizens.

"As the candidates have opened certain topics, we will talk through non-populist solutions about how to clean the city of garbage, how to have better education and healthcare, how to implement green policies. Podgorica should be the initiator of positive changes in Montenegro. that's why our program was created on the basis of citizens' proposals. This is not just a political struggle, this is a struggle for our Podgorica," said Mugoša.

Non-party candidate Bojan Domazetović said that he decided to join the European Union because the concept is based on civil and liberal.

"This concept greatly exceeds the narrow and predictable political frameworks that surround us. The second motive is a program that does not touch populism and nationalism with a single letter, but focuses on all the problems of the citizens and strives to improve the lives of the citizens of Podgorica. The third motive is the people at the head of Boris. These are people who are decent, measured and able to present the program, as well as restore hope to the citizens that Podgorica can be created as an example," said Domazetović.

Also non-party candidate Melita Rastoder Ljaić said that she personally wants to be responsible for what is good in Podgorica.

"Personally, because of the lack of parking, I choose to go to work by bike, but I choose safe bike paths. It's really time for him to understand that we, ordinary citizens, are responsible for what happens in Podgorica. We have accepted that Podgorica is a city where everything allowed and that nothing can be done there. Well, I choose that it can be done," said Rastoder Ljaić.

Vuk Pejović, also a non-party candidate, pointed out that for him no party should be above Podgorica.

"Podgorica, for example, is a city that has the means to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to play sports and go to cultural events. We want Buducnost to bring the best teams and have the best festivals. We want to not travel around the world for events, but to bring them to Podgorica".

SD official Miloš Đuričković said that one of the items they want to introduce is a green coefficient, according to which investors who build will be obliged to provide a part for green space.

"The second segment is the planting of 4.000 trees that we plan to plant in Podgorica during the term of office. We plan to introduce a moratorium on construction on all elevations. In this way, we protect the landscape, but we do not plan to leave them bare, but to create facilities on them through proper planning. The tourism segment is very important to us. The European Union is a list that has no complaints like some others. If you vote for it, you won't regret it even in 10 years," said Đuričković.

Aleksandar Ljumović said that the LSCG was with the SDP a party that created the foundations for an independent Montenegro.
