The construction of three new parks, two underground garages and the continuation of reconstruction of facades are among the plans that the list "Jakov Milatović - For a better Podgorica" wants to implement in Block V in Podgorica.
This list started today with the first mini-meeting from Block V, after which they will visit all the settlements in the capital and talk to citizens about the vision of a better Podgorica.
As stated in the announcement of the list, the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović addressed the citizens in Block V, saying that Luka Rakčević will be the new mayor of Podgorica and that the Za bolja Podgorica list is the winning list. "Luka is the only one who knows all the projects concerning the development of Block V, as well as all the settlements in Podgorica, and who, together with the people from this list, will fight for all the projects and the vision of Podgorica to be realized. These people have shown why they are different from to political competition. They fought for Podgorica from both the opposition and the government," said Milatović.
Milatović, as stated, pointed out that they defeated the DPS in Podgorica, but that after that the expectations of the citizens were disappointed.
"Citizens want changes for the better, not replacements. Together, we must put a stop to bad practices, we must continue the started fight for a more beautiful and better Podgorica. Democracy is not a one-way street, democracy is a daily struggle, for that struggle we need all of you, 29 In September, we all have to say a big 'Yes'. Yes for a better Podgorica, yes for a better Montenegro," concluded Milatović.
Luka Rakčević, candidate for mayor of the "Jakov Milatović - For a better Podgorica" list, said that seven years ago, together with Jelisaveta Kalezić and numerous other citizens, they held a large protest rally in Block V against the construction of the 25-story, 100-meter-high Milenijum block of flats. .
"At that time, we raised our voice to protect Block V, and on the other hand, our political competitors were advisers to DPS in the field of energy and in other fields. We raised our voice, defeated DPS and preserved Block V, that is very important a message and a reminder to all those who on September 29 should vote for someone in the elections in Podgorica," said Rakčević.
The candidate for mayor of the list "For a better Podgorica" pointed out that their list has three projects ready that will be implemented in Block V. The first and largest will be built on more than 7.000 square meters, in the continuation of the Bazar shopping center, the construction of which will begin even before the election 29 In September, the second park, the project of which is also finished, will be built exactly where the solitaire Millennium was planned, on the green area that was preserved in 2017. The third park, as he said, will be a senior park, across the street from the Tološka Forest, because they want to provide the oldest citizens from Block V with basic conditions for their stay in nature.
Rakčević added that they have two big projects concerning new parking spaces, the first is the opening of the underground garage of the Bazar shopping center, and the second is the construction of a three-level underground garage across the road from the Health Center, above which they would also get a new green area with space for cultural contents. He added that he will continue with the reconstruction of the facades in Block V.
"Our plan for Block V has always been concrete, realistic and achievable. We know what Podgorica should look like. We have been fighting for Podgorica for 15 years, together with all citizens, we have always been there to defend the interests of our city and from we will not give up no matter who is on the opposite side," concluded Rakčević.
The president of the Municipal Board of the Capital City Movement for Change, Branka Bošnjak, said that she was glad that their campaign started from Block V, where she grew up.
"Block V is fairly urbanized, in this neighborhood there is also a health center and an elementary school, but I think that what is missing, and what this list will regulate, as the backbone of the future government, is that Block V gets a high school, a gymnasium." Bosniak pointed out.
She emphasized that this coalition will also advocate for the oldest, who will be provided with free public transportation throughout the year.
"We have numerous projects and people led by Luka who can implement them, we need you to implement them and I am glad to see many people here today who were long-term fighters against the former regime. Now we have to stop a populism that threatens to takes us to the bottom and I know that all of you are aware of that, that's why I know that we will have your support and we will see you celebrating together on September 29," Bošnjak concluded.
