The Naprijed movement announced today that it advocates a comprehensive solution to the problem of abandoned animals, taking into account the experiences of European cities and respecting the specific needs of the Capital City.
"We plan to introduce a number of initiatives that will help abandoned animals and provide them with better living conditions in urban areas, both during the winter and summer months. Our plan includes placing houses made of environmentally friendly materials in strategic locations, providing shade and access to water during summer months, as well as the organization of a network of feeders and waterers. We will also advocate for the expansion of the asylum's capacity and the establishment of a mobile veterinary clinic," said Marija Dragović, a candidate for councilor from the "Dr. Vuk Kadić - Forward Movement - For Podgorica and Family" list. .
She added that they especially emphasize the importance of sterilization as a key long-term solution, as well as educating citizens about responsible ownership.
"A pet is not a toy that you can throw away when you get bored. Our fight against animal torture will be supported by the municipal police, in order to ensure adequate protection and law enforcement," said Dragović.
The Naprijed movement said that it invites all citizens, experts, volunteers and all those who care about the welfare of animals to join their efforts.
"The first step in this is to go to the polls on September 29, vote for our list and thereby contribute to the creation of more humane conditions for abandoned animals in Podgorica," reads the announcement of the Forward Movement.
