One of the key points of our "Let's Tidy Up Podgorica" Program is precisely the introduction of order into the public transport system and the creation of a sustainable solution for further improvement, announced today Dalibor Tomić, candidate for councilor of the Electoral List "Time for Order - Party of European Progress - Duško Marković". .
The Party of European Progress (SEP) announced that a complete solution to the issue of public city transport is one of the prerequisites for a better daily life in Podgorica.
"Since the current government took over the management of the city, we are witnessing the decline of that service for citizens, which has become unreliable and the last option to be used in the absence of an alternative," the SEP press release points out.
Tomić said that the citizens of Podgorica hoped for a systemic solution, but the city administration, instead, resorts to temporary measures such as buying used vehicles and canceling departures without notice, which clearly indicates a lack of vision and capacity for the development of modern Podgorica.
"That's why one of the key points of our Let's Fix Podgorica Program is precisely the introduction of order into the public transport system and the creation of a sustainable solution for further improvement. By modernizing the fleet by purchasing new buses, we will fulfill the first condition, and by analyzing the current loopholes in the timetable in detail, we will increase the number of daily lines to In addition to providing high-quality and reliable service to the citizens of Podgorica and facilitating daily movement in the city, they will also necessarily lead to the reduction of traffic in the city center, reduce uncontrollably growing crowds, shorten travel time and have a beneficial effect on the reduction of the carbon footprint in the long term. which leaves an excessive number of vehicles on the roads," Tomić said.
He said that SEP believes in responsibility and consistency, and that the solution cannot mean punishing citizens, but improving the service so that we are not forced to use alternative methods of public transportation.
"In the upcoming elections, citizens have the opportunity to choose those who will keep their promises and work on concrete solutions for better public transport and life in Podgorica. The organization of transport tailored to the citizens and the increasing number of tourists and visitors is the basis for a modern and functional European city what Podgorica can and must become. It's time for changes, it's time to bring order," Tomić concluded.
