Croatia wants to see Montenegro as a Euro-Atlantic neighbor, which will remain firmly on its European path, values and commitment, said Croatian Ambassador Veselko Grubišić.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Grubišić said this in a conversation with the Vice President of the Montenegrin Government, Ervin Ibrahimović.
"Grubišić conveyed the view that certain moves by the Montenegrin side in the previous period were not in accordance with the vision of developing good neighborly friendly relations," the announcement says.
Ibrahimović, as stated, said that Montenegro appreciates Croatia's help in the context of Euro-Atlantic and European integration and that he wants, in the spirit of neighborly relations, to foster dialogue on all issues and further develop relations based on the principles of openness and trust.
"Croatia is our friendly, neighboring country, a NATO ally and a member of the European Union, which we also want to join as soon as possible," said Ibrahimović.
He said that he believes that through dialogue on all issues, the best, mutually acceptable solutions can be reached and, in this way, existing ties can be further strengthened.
As stated in the announcement, Grubišić and Ibrahimović also discussed other, current, regional and bilateral issues.
