The Ministry of Finance announced that the Cabinet of the President of Montenegro "confirmed that it is asking for more than the record budget"
"The statement of the Minister of Finance, Novica Vuković, in the context of the request of the Presidency of Montenegro, was not published in its entirety from today's press conference, because the mentioned financing of official trips, in the part of the recording and photographing of the President, is missing. Therefore, it is not a falsehood, it is in the public domain the incomplete statement of Minister Vuković, and he himself did not have time to list all the initial official and unofficial requests that the Ministry of Finance has from this spending unit during the preparation of the budget proposal, as well as after its adoption," the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
They thanked the President's Cabinet "for confirming that it has requests for additional allocation of taxpayers' money, in addition to the approved budget, which is a record in 2024."
"Let us repeat - out of the requested 2,1 million euros, the request of over 600.000 euros related to the financing of official trips, filming and photographing the president, etc. We repeat that we expect the Presidency of Montenegro to behave rationally in spending taxpayers' money, and in in accordance with the Law on Budget and Fiscal Responsibility," the announcement concludes.
