Nermin Abdić, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) for the mayor of Podgorica and the holder of the election list "In word and deed", said that their election program has seven parts.
At the presentation of the DPS program, in anticipation of the elections on September 29, he promised the citizens, among other things, that they would have water and that it would never happen again that Football Club Budućnost plays outside the city stadium.
"These great people will present parts of the program, and after September 29, the citizens will have a panoramic cable car, free public transportation... What I firmly promise - never bypassing the people," said Abdić.
Councilor candidate Andrija Klikovac said that, as part of the economy and entrepreneurship, he will build a fair park, a new hospital, and prestigious hotels.
"In the next four years, at least 50 percent of the Capital City's budget will be allocated for capital investments. We will have 200 percent more support for entrepreneurs and craftsmen," he said.
He said that they want the city to expand evenly, so they will reduce municipal taxes in the suburbs.
"We want Podgorica to be a city where tourists come and which will be a center of fun, entertainment and culture. We want concerts of European and regional stars in Podgorica at least twice a year," he added.
He also said that they want to provide restaurateurs with longer working hours in non-residential buildings.
Klikovac said that he will put an end to irrational expenses.
Councilor candidate Vladan Arsović singled out a panoramic cable car as part of capital infrastructure projects, which would connect picnic spots such as Trijepče and Mali Brdo.
"A very important segment is the legalization of buildings. We must insist that every building can be legalized, except for those in protected zones. We will increase the existing reduction of 50 percent for basic residential buildings up to 200 m2 to 70 percent," he said.
He said that he will form the Podgorica Legalization Agency.
"We will finish the work on the wastewater treatment plant. We started the project in the previous mandate, but the new government did not finish it. We will expand the sewerage network for Tološe, Vranić, Donja and Gornja Gorica," he added.
Arsović says that he will build a solar power plant on Velje brdo and a new bus station.
Candidate for councilor Stefan Ćulafić said that he will provide free transportation for all citizens of Podgorica.
"In the previous mandate, we started solving traffic problems. Then we introduced new traffic lines. We are willing to continue solving them. As part of the 'Podgorica on two wheels' project, we subsidized the purchase of bicycles and thus developed alternative modes of transportation. And as an opposition , we initiated free bus transportation. I will remind you that we reconstructed Njegoševa and Bokeška streets, which are now pedestrian zones.
Ćulafić said that through the purchase of 40 buses, he will "change the blood picture" of city transportation, reconstruct bus stops, and ensure that there is a bus every five to seven minutes.
He also said that the lack of parking spaces will be solved with five underground and five above-ground garages.
"We will continue with the reconstruction of streets and boulevards. The western ring road was promised to be started last year. We will correct those things. We will continue the reconstruction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard. We will enter into reconstructions in the neighborhoods of Zabjelo, Stari Aerodrom... We will build Branko Deletić Boulevard. We will expand Dalmatinska and reconstruct Kozaracka Street," he said.
Ksenija Aranitović, a candidate for councilor, said that she will build another home for the elderly and introduce a free kindergarten for all children in the territory of Podgorica.
"We will establish a center for independent living for people with disabilities. We will establish an office for pensioners. We will improve the position of PWDs through employment subsidies," she stated.
Candidate for councilor Maša Vučinić said that Podgorica is a city with natural potential.
"In the previous mandate, we established an agency for the management of protected areas. Our goal is also the integration of natural elements in urban development. We want to include citizens in educational programs. Every citizen must be a part of this process. We stand for the UNESCO program 'Man and the Biosphere "Participation in this space brings greater participation of the local community that lives in protected areas. Projects such as green roofs and green infrastructure will improve the position of citizens," she said.
He says that their vision is "clean and smart Podgorica".
"We will insist on installing semi-underground containers, which will improve the hygiene of the city. Finally, what we want to do is the introduction of clean technologies. Our policy is not just a vision, it is an obligation towards current and future generations," she said.
Candidate for councilor Maša Šturanović said that they see Podgorica as a modern city.
"We want to increase the number of digital nomads and strengthen Podgorica's brand on the digital market. We plan to increase the number of digital licenses. The key resource is our citizens, and we will strive to retain the most talented through guaranteed employment, preparation of the labor market, an open policy and equal opportunities for all ", she said.
Anja Popović, a candidate for councilor, said that she will create a youth home, so that population can learn entrepreneurship.
"We will establish a museum of anti-fascism and the Buducnost Athletics Club. We will map the city culturally. We will insist on restoring the Podgorica Melos folk music festival. As a gift to the new athletics club, we will insist on building an athletics stadium," she said.
When asked by journalists whether some points are repeated from election to election and why they were not resolved while DPS was in power, Klikovac said that from 2020-2022. had obstructions from the Government in the procurement of buses.
"As for some projects, such as Vojislavljevica Street - if we had won, they would have already been finished. Today, we are in a situation where this kind of city administration will not realize them," he announced.
Abdić: I respond to fascist statements with a smile
