The Tenants' Movement said that they clearly know what they will do if they get the support of citizens in the upcoming local elections in Podgorica: they will provide subsidies for tenants, start social housing and create a register of tenants so that their voices are finally heard and respected.
The epidemic of extraordinary local elections in Montenegro clearly shows how much the will of the citizens is not respected, according to the Tenant Movement.
"Due to rotten pre-election coalitions and post-election grabbing of seats, inter-party and personal interests, the will of the citizens is being trampled on without an iota of respect and shame from you. Your money is being spent again on new elections, while problems are piling up," they emphasized in a statement sent to the media.
They warn that this same scenario, unfortunately, threatens Podgorica as well.
"The question we all have to ask out loud is the following: Do we have the strength and wisdom to oppose this kind of irresponsibility?
Only citizens can, must and have the right to stop this political circus. We deserve a responsible government - a government that respects your voice and truly cares about your real needs. We deserve much more than we get," the Tenant Movement concluded.
